THE WORLD'S BIGGEST TELESCOPE WILL SOON BE READY -BY 2024

This gigantic structure will house the future mega terrestrial ELT (Extremely Large Telescope).

The building housing the ELT mirror will be about 74 meters high and the ELT mirror itself will have a diameter of 39 meters.

Scientists and Astronomers intend to use this observatory to study the universe at wavelengths of the visible and infrared with reach.

This gigantic project is constructed by Cerro Armazones in Atacama (Chile), and it is scheduled to be completed by 2024.

Just like other massive telescopes, the ELT will enable us to understand our universe even better.
